Convatec is a global medical products and technologies company focused on chronic conditions — advanced wound care, stoma care, continence care and infusion care. That means every decision is measured twice: does it deliver a better clinical outcome, and does it give someone more of their life back?
Convatec began with a simple refusal to accept that living with a long-term condition should mean living smaller. Almost fifty years later that refusal still shapes the company. Our scientists developed Hydrofiber® Technology, now trusted at the wound bed for more than twenty-five years. Our designers pioneered soft convexity and Leak Defence™ in stoma care, and FeelClean Technology™ in intermittent catheters. Our researchers continue to explore Nitric Oxide™ and new materials that could change how difficult wounds heal.
But technology alone has never closed the gap we care most about. Ninety-six per cent of nurses tell us they need more time, resources and education for their patients. That is the care gap: the distance between the support people want and the time clinicians can give. We try to close it with more than products — through the me+™ patient support programme, through Convatec Academy education for healthcare professionals, and through peer communities where people who have been through surgery talk honestly to people who are about to.
Today we operate at global scale with deliberately local expertise: manufacturing and research sites across several continents, clinical specialists embedded with health systems, and partnerships with homecare dispensers, procurement teams and patient associations. We are also clear-eyed about our responsibilities as a maker of single-use medical devices, and are working to reduce the environmental footprint of the care we deliver without ever compromising the safety of the person using it.
