The People's Pension, plus the tools and benefits behind it
More than one in five UK workplace savers is with us. Whatever your pot looks like today, our job is to explain it clearly, keep the charges simple and help your money work harder between now and the day you stop.
UK's largest commercial master trust
One straightforward workplace pension, more than Β£40bn under management and a default fund built for people who would rather not choose.
Your pension in your pocket
Check your pot, update your details, switch funds and set a retirement date in minutes, on any device.
Long-term money, long-term thinking
Our default fund is climate-aware and overseen by an independent Trustee Board that answers to members, not shareholders.
Protection built for working lives
Our legacy B&CE range, including life and accident protection, still supports employers and workers across construction and beyond.
Simple charges, shared profits, real planning tools
Every month a slice of your pay goes somewhere you cannot see, and most people are never told what happens next. Here is the short version. Your contributions are invested in a default fund managed for the long term, with climate risk taken seriously because a pension is a forty-year promise. You pay one clear annual management charge, and because we have no shareholders, part of that charge comes back to you through our management charge rebate and savings reward β more than Β£30m a year across our members.
Alongside the money, you get the tools to make sense of it. Our calculators show what your pot could be worth at different retirement ages and contribution levels. If you have pots scattered across old jobs, we can help you bring them together. And when you are ready to take your money, we will walk you through the options in language that does not need a glossary.
Activate your online account or download the app and you will see your current pot, the contributions coming in from your employer, and a projection of what it could be worth at retirement. You only need your National Insurance number and a few personal details to get started.
Often, yes. Transferring old workplace pots into one place can make them far easier to track and can reduce the chance of losing one altogether. We will never charge you to transfer in, and we will tell you plainly if staying put looks like the better option for you.
From age 55, rising to 57 in 2028, you can usually take up to a quarter of your pot tax free and choose how to use the rest. We will set out your options, point you to free impartial guidance from Pension Wise, and never push you towards a product.
